watercolor 22x28 2009(sold) I believe this piece is talking about what is coming. The Bride of Christ, purified and holy is ready. The lion has roared; the time is nigh. The Glory of the Lord shines on the Bride and we await His Kingdom. Just rule and eternal life with our Love, Father, and King are coming. His Breath blows on us and we receive Him. The crowned lion represents the Lion of Judah, Christ, awaiting His bride. Stars and the cosmos represent the heavens and the unknown that await us when God’s plan is complete. The ring of peacock feathers symbolizes the immortality that we receive from our relationship with Christ. A dove, representing the Holy Spirit alights in the waiting hand of the Bride. She is arrayed in white and ready to meet Christ in the air, referenced in 1 Thessalonians 4:17. She is still on the temporal plain with the sky and the earth. Behind her veil we see a map seen from above. There are two paths shown. One path is wide and winding and one is narrow and straight. It is red from the blood of Christ. The paths may intersect at different times and then diverge again. However, the destination is not the same. These choices are now behind the Bride as she awaits Christ. The candle below symbolizes the light of God ever present in our walk, lighting our path. The wedding cake toppers reference the shadow of things to come that earthly marriages represent.
This painting has already been purchased, but will be available as a limited edition print. This piece is actually part of a trilogy. Flight Series |
