"Coming" 18x24 watercolor 2009 (sold)

This piece references the miracle of Christ walking on water.  His feet tread on the water as it parts to make way for His path.  The fish is a symbol of Christ and the disciples panic in the storm at the bottom of the piece.  The anchor is a symbol of Christ as our hope.

"Ascension" 24x36 watercolor 2003 (sold)

This piece portrays Christ’s ascension into heaven after He rose from the dead.  The hand at the top is the Hand of God guiding His son to heaven.  The apple refers to the fall of man and the completion of what started in Eden.  The pear is a symbol of the incarnation of Christ.  The birds symbolize winged souls.  The crocuses are symbols of the Resurrection.

 

"Crucifixion" 24x36 watercolor 2003 (sold)

 This piece refers to the sacrifice of Christ on the cross.  The apple refers to the fall of man and the completion of what was started in Eden.  The pelican is a symbol for Christ because, according to legend, it will feed its young its own blood to save them.  The tree is a reference to the Tree of Life and to the tree of the cross.  The thorns refer to His crown of thorns.  The dandelion and the thistle are both symbols of the Passion of Christ.

This series was started in 2002 and  completed in 2009.  All originals have been purchased.
