F.A.Q.

Sunlight and moisture are the greatest enemies of art.  A good framing job and common sense will take care of most moisture issues.  I do not recommend hanging prints, especially, in bathrooms.

Sunlight, however, is another matter.  I spray most of my original works with a UV protective spray.  It helps with the smearing of my mixed media works, and helps conserve the vivid colors of my watercolors.  That being said, please DO NOT hang any of my watercolors, mixed medias or prints in direct sunlight.  The red colors especially will be compromised.  Indirect sunlight is fine.  Please don't hang the work in a closet, enjoy it, but be aware of the dangers to your investment.

If you would like further protection, frame the pieces using special UV glass.  It is a little more expensive, but it is really necessary if the piece is going to get some direct sunlight or is in a very sunny room.  Unfortunately, I frame a lot of paintings and I frame on spec, so I cannot afford to use this glass.  A frame shop will easily be able to change out the glass for you on any of my framed pieces.
